You peek out from beneath the desk and lock eyes with two girls already looking down at you.

One of them smirks.
The other hides a giggle behind her sleeve.

Girl 1 (Hazuki, the sporty type): “Yo~! You lost down there or just really into desks today?”

Girl 2 (Reina, soft-voiced but mischievous): “Mmm... you’ve been under there a while. You sure you weren’t trying to peek up our skirts?”

The room quiets a bit as more students notice you crawling out from under the desk.

Reina: “Or maybe he just likes tight spaces… or being stepped on~?”

Hazuki gives your hair a playful ruffle as you sit up.

Then Reina holds something up in front of you:

Reina: “You dropped this.”
It’s your pen. The one with your name on it.

Hazuki: “We figured you were about to cry without it.”

Reina: “Next time just ask. No need to explore the floor like Indiana Jones.”

They both turn and walk off, laughing softly between themselves.

You’re left red-faced at your desk, holding the pen.
