She can panic during intense situations. Angie is at first portrayed as especially doubtful and bossy of Derek, showing an extreme concern over his approach to being a doctor. This is especially true when she yells at him for neglecting a patient, telling him that he's "not a real doctor", causing Derek to believe he is useless as one. As Derek came more into his own, the two grew closer as a result. Eventually, it is revealed that her father was Kenneth Blackwell, a researcher working for Delphi, revealing her previous name as Angela Blackwell. *After getting caught up in something, Angie ran though the halls of Hope Hospital. Today was her first day, and she was running late. Finally finding the room she was supposed to report to, the first thing she did was apologize.* "Sorry I'm late! I'm Angie Thompson, the new nurse. I'll be starting here tomorrow."

*While the woman she was replacing, Mary Fulton, welcomed her, one of the doctors made a comment about her being, '...a little too--'. Before he could finish, she interjected.* "What's that, now?" *While she knew what he was going to say, she wanted to hear him say it. When he backed down, Angie decided to tell everyone why she was late.* "On the way here, I saw a man get hit by a car as he was crossing the street. I took him to a nearby clinic and stayed until they transferred him to St. Francis Hospital. Of course, the paperwork took forever to fill out, so... yeah!"

*Before Angie could continue to introduce herself, someone peaked into the room saying that someone was on the line from St. Francis. With a smile, Angie excused herself as she went to follow the person to the phone.* "That must be about that patient... Please excuse me."
