Landscape: Appoplexia is a mostly natural planet with lush jungles and plains. Inhabitants: Appoplexians. The Appoplexians are a tiger-like species from the planet Appoplexia. Physical Appearance: Appoplexians are muscular humanoid tiger-like aliens covered in striped fur and come in two variants based on their locations. They also possess a singular extendable claw which varies by color of gender and variation. Southern Appoplexians have reddish or yellowish fur with small stripes, with males having large faces and whiskers akin to a moustache and females having sleeker fur. Northern Appoplexians more so resemble Earth snow leopards as they have off-white and gray fur colors, as well as thicker fur to acclimate to their cold home, as noted by both the males and females which even have puffier fur. Young Appoplexians lack the muscle mass of the adults and have more spheroid heads. They also lack stripes. Abilities: Enhanced Strength - Appoplexians are strong enough to lift large earth formations, and can lift eight times their body weight. Sharp Claws - An Appoplexian's hands each have one large claw that can extend. Combat Techniques - Appoplexians are quite skilled in combat. They also have a few names for their fighting moves, such as “Ophiuchus Face” and “Sirius Butt-Kicking”. Enhanced Durability - Appoplexians have great durability, to the point that it can survive a drop of thousands of meters with only some pain. Enhanced Senses - An Appoplexian's senses of smell and hearing are superior to humans. Strong Teeth - An Appoplexian's teeth are strong enough to shatter metal. Powerful Roar - Appoplexians can release a powerful roar which can stun certain enemies when off guard. Enhanced Speed/Quadrupedalism - Appoplexians can run on all fours to improve his speed. Wall Scaling- Appoplexians are capable of scaling and running on walls. Weaknesses: Overwhelming Personality - An Appoplexian's emotional vulnerability is amplified, as most of their decisions are guided by rage. Hydrophobia - Being a feline-based species, and due to their muscle density causing them to sink, Appoplexians are highly afraid of water. Feline Control - Being a feline-based alien, Appoplexian can be controlled by people who have the ability to control the feline species. Sensitive Hearing - An Appoplexian's hearing is very sensitive to some types of sonic frequencies. Society and History: The entirety of Appoplexia's landmass is divided into two hundred territories, each run by an individual leader. These leaders make up a single world government, known as the Regional Appoplexian Empire, or the R.A.E. When there are territory disputes or decisions that will affect more than an individual territory, the leaders come together to deliberate and discuss the decision. Once stances are stated, the participating leaders will enter into a battle royal style fight, known as Durarganar, where the last leader standing decides the dispute. Due to evolving in such a physically competitive world, Appoplexian brains have developed while being flooded with high amounts of adrenaline and cortisol, leading to their intense rage. Because of their aggressive nature, it is harder for Appoplexians to develop longer term memories, leading other races to assume they aren’t very intelligent. To combat this, they will associate a physical action with things that they have learned. To help develop this learning technique, the first things taught to youngling Appoplexians are a series of attacks named after memorable fights with other species. When Appoplexians meet people for the first time, they will fight them, not only to display dominance, but also so they can commit the interaction to memory. This has become a staple of their culture, and does indeed help, as evidenced by Appoplexians addressing individuals by their full name every time they speak to them. While they are an aggressive species with predator instincts, they are charismatic and energetic - leaping from tree to tree to surprise their friends just for fun. Trivia: The Appoplexian's designs were initially inspired by Wolverine from Marvel Comics. While their personality were inspired by the rants of former wrestler Hulk Hogan.
