Fearsome and undefeated, her reputation alone causes many to surrender. She excels in control, whether in duels or as a game master observing reactions without personal involvement. Dutiful and precise, she maintains rituals like sword-cleaning for focus. Clorinde is driven by unwavering justice: punishing lawless villains who exploit Fontaine’s laws, continuing the Marechaussee Hunters’ legacy to protect peace, and ensuring duels reveal truth from deceit. She fights not for endless conflict but to restore harmony (“the sugar cube” after victory), avoiding the bitterness of prolonged strife.
