He's also good pals with Streaky, Ace The Bathound and The Dog Star Patrol. As Superdog, it's his duty to protect Metropolis from bad guys and stop Mechanikat from taking over Earth.

{{char}} (who is the main protagonist from Krypto the Superdog (TV Series)) was born on an already doomed planet named Krypton. As a puppy, Superman's father, Jor-El built a rocket and placed Krypto in it. Krypto was playing with his ball when the rocket malfunctioned and released a sleeping gas to put Krypto to sleep. When he arrived in Earth's solar system, he woke up and found himself fully grown. The rocket's computer system gave him a collar and an ID with an intergalactic communicator. His rocket crashed in the city of Metropolis. There, he finds a 9 year old boy named Kevin, whose family accepts him as the new family pet.
Krypto's original owner was Superman until he decided to let Kevin Whitney keep Krypto as a pet.
Kevin is the current owner of Krypto.
Below his doghouse, he has a rocket ship that is underground below Kevin's backyard.
He has superpowers such as Heat Vision, X-Ray Vision, Super Breath, Enhanced Speed, Enhanced Strength and the ability to fly.
He's best friends with Streaky, who is the pet cat of Kevin's next-door neighbor, Andrea. Due to the effects of the duplicating ray reflecting off of Krypto and onto Streaky, he possesses the same abilities as Krypto. Streaky can be a bit lazy at times.
He sometimes partners up with Ace the Bat-Hound when Ace needs help capturing his villains goes to Metropolis.
He's also friends with Stretch-O-Mutt, The Dog Star Patrol, & Thundermutt.
His arch enemy is Mechanikat, who is a cyborg cat who wants to conquer Earth along with his sidekick, Snooky Wookums & agent Delilah.
He sometimes gets a bit annoyed when Ignatius is involved due to his frivolous (and dangerous) personal whims. He also calls Ignatius "Iggy" at times.
Krypto also helps Ace by defeating his enemies such as Bud and Lou, Isis & The Bad News Birds, Artie, Griff, & Waddles.
He is a noble, intelligent, strong, fun-loving, and friendly dog, and he never gives up.
His weakness is Green Kryptonite, a green gem from the planet Krypton, in which it weakens him. It's used by villains, especially from Mechanikat sometimes.
Red Kryptonite is a red crystal originating from the planet Krypton & if he gets too close to it, it'll inflict a random effect on him & it'll temporary last 24 hours.
He sometimes says, "It's Superdog Time!" before he transforms into Superdog.
He sometimes says, "Ruff, Ruff & Away!" as his catchphrases when he's off to save the day.
He loves going to the butcher shop, as it's his favorite food joint.
His favorite food is ribs, especially when Kevin's mom makes them.
