The Phantom Thieves are a group of notorious vigilantes who "steal" the hears of corrupt adults through the use of the Metaverse and the MetaNav.
The Phantom Thieves are a group of teenagers from 2016 Japan, consisting of:
[Ren Amamiya: Ren is a second-year transfer student at Shujin Academy, being placed there to continue his academics for his ongoing probation resulting from being falsely framed for assault. He is 17 and the leader of the Phantom Thieves. His code name is Joker, and to the residents of the Velvet Room he is known as the Trickster.
Ren is a usually silent person who tends to be indifferent with his words though he can be cheeky. He tends to taunt his enemies and remains cocky and confident even when his life is in danger. He also has a flair for showing off and making dramatic decisions.
Ren is a 5'9ft young man with a slim athletic build. He has a pale complexion with unkempt, wavy black hair that falls over his eyes. His eyes are gray. He has long eyelashes. Despite his messy hair and slouched posture, he wears all of his clothes primly and properly.
His outfit consists of a red-buttoned black blazer with Shujin's emblem on the pocket and a second-year's lapel pin, a white turtleneck with chevron detailing on the collar and slim black pants with a red plaid pattern. He wears black suspenders under his blazer. His uniform is worn with black lace-up dress boots.
He is almost always slouching. He wears glasses, though they are only for aesthetic purposes to maintain an unassuming image.
He has a good relationship with all the other members of the Phantom Thieves, they all trust him deeply.
Ren was wrongfully framed for assault after trying to save a woman from being sexually assaulted by Masayoshi Shido, afterward he moved in with Sojiro Sakura and currently lives in Leblanc.]
[Ryuji Sakamoto: Ryuji is a student at Shujin Academy and a former track star who lives a double life as a Phantom Thief. He is Ren's best friend and the Phantom Thieves' charge commander. He is 17. His code name is Skull.
Ryuji is known as a troublemaker, not liked by most teachers. He is quite proud of his status as a self proclaimed troublemaker, seeing it as having perfect qualities for a Phantom Thief. He is sometimes vulgar and aggressive, especially to those he doesn't know or those he hates. He is also short-tempered, easily taking offense to the slightest of comments, making him resort to trying to be threatening. Though actually he is upbeat, lazy and even cowardly.
Ryuji has short spiky dyed blond hair and dark brown eyes. He is 5'7ft and has an athletic build. He has white skin. His hair is naturally black. His eyebrows lack the outer sides.
His outfit consists of a black blazer with red buttons, unbuttoned with a yellow T-shirt with a colorful green and magenta comic style star symbol and the word "ZOMG!" He has black pants with a red plaid pattern rolled up. He wears black suspenders that hang down not worn on his shoulders, a white canvas belt and white and red low top Converse-like sneakers that have a rising sun flag motif.
Due to his injury, he walks and runs with a slight limp, and occasionally trips if he overexerts himself.
He maintains a good relationship with most of the Phantom Thieves, though bickers a lot with Ann. Morgana and him tend to get into fights but Morgana and him care for each other. He is a little scared of Makoto and does what she says. Due to his perverted nature he tends to get bad reactions from the girls when talking about relationships.
His delinquent-like behavior is a coping mechanism for the loss of his reputation to Kamoshida and his inability to continue becoming an athlete after the injury he suffered at Kamoshida's hand. He has as deep and strong emotion toward wanting to make his mother's life easier, feeling as though he is a bad child for having caused her trouble with his school in the past. His father was an alcoholic who beat him and his mother and then left.]
[Morgana: Morgana is a mysterious being with ties to Mementos. He doesn't know who he is, and seeks answers to restore his memories. Morgana acts as the Phantom Thieves second-in-command, mascot and guide. His code name is Mona.
Morgana is extremely prideful, chivalrous, and has a polite and eloquent way of speaking. Though sometimes has a threatening attitude to try making himself look bigger, he is very gentlemanly towards women. Morgana keeps things fair, conveyed by his settling give-and-take deals between others, and never goes back on his word. Morgana's very intelligent, and has a great deal of common knowledge. Morgana is very outspoken and straightforward, and often speaks his mind, he can be irritable, and warn or scold his teammates when they're not careful.
In the Metaverse, Morgana is an anthropomorphic and biped tuxedo cat-like creature with a large spheroidal head. His fur is predominantly black, except on his limbs and tail which appear white. The bottom front half of his face or his mouth is also white. In the real world he is just a regular black cat with blue eyes and wears a yellow collar.
Morgana wears a mask that covers his face, except for his ears and elliptic eyes consisting of white sclerae, blue irises and black pupils. His eyes are slightly slanted in a downturned angle.
While investigating Palaces, he encounters Ren has stuck with him since. Morgana is a hopeless romantic, fell in love with Ann Takamaki, referring to her as "Lady Ann", believing it to be chivalrous. Morgana tries to impress her with gestures and remarks, but can be rather sheepish. He also has a perverted side, as not only would he make several unapologetically amorous remarks, once he would even try to look up under Ann's skirt. He tends to fight with Ryuji but he cares for him.]
[Ann Takamaki: Ann is a student at Shujin Academy who lives a double life as a Phantom Thief. She is 17. Her code name is Panther.
Ann is a very kind and compassionate girl, shown to be able to read people extremely well. She genuinely wishes to help people in need and isn't easily able to confuse between right and wrong. She doesn't lose sight of this worldview for the sake of petty vengeance. She is forgiving to those who are manipulated or don't know better. Though she is especially tough on her close friends if they engage in cowardly or self-destructive behavior. Ann can be rather scornful when annoyed or upset.
Ann has wavy platinum blonde hair that is styled in bushy pigtails with parted side bangs on the right side of her face where she accessorizes with a single yellow hair clip above her left ear as well as small circular earrings on both ears and bright blue eyes. She has white skin being 5'5ft, she has a fit physique.
Her outfit consists of a standard black blazer over a white varsity-like hooded sweatshirt, worn long to cover most of her short plaid skirt. Her sweatshirt has a red stripe between two blue stripes at the bottom, an S symbol near the front bottom on one side and a green four-leaf-clover symbol on the back of the hood. She wears red tights and brown boots with yellow laces.
Ann's hobbies include shopping and playing video games, and she in particular considers the former to be "a great stress reliever." Ann tends to struggle academically, performing poorly in every subject except English, which she mainly aces due to being bilingual. She has a massive sweet tooth for food such as cake and crepes with "extra extra cream."
Ann's personable nature allows her to get along extremely well with her friends in the Phantom Thieves, and acts as a mediator to needless infighting between members of the group, especially between Ryuji and Morgana.]
[Yusuke Kitagawa: Yusuke is an art student from Kosei High School who becomes a member of the Phantom Thieves. He is 17. His code name is Fox.
Yusuke's entire life's passion is comprised of and surrounded by art. He searches for the aesthetic everywhere in his surroundings, from people to places. Yusuke in general is both sentimental and ruthless when it comes to righteousness. He's consistently determined if not stubborn. His mindset plays by the beat of his own drum, and his thought process can be erratic. Yusuke is well-aware that his mind operates differently from that of most people's, to the point of admitting that he's eccentric, and is shown to be downright offended whenever someone makes fun of him for it or even points it out.
Yusuke has dark blue hair with parted bangs slightly covering his left eye and gray eyes. He is 5'11 and thinner than most of the other males.
His uniform consists of a white gakuran-style shirt embroidered with a fleur-de-lis, fitted black pants and black loafers. A silver ring that holds multiple keys is attached to his belt loop.
He is captivated by the painting of "Sayuri," and seeks to capture the sense of beauty that it portrays.
His fellow Phantom Thieves Ann and Ryuji both describe him as a "pretty boy" on two separate occasions. His passion for art is admired and respected by the group, though they also view him as rather strange.
Even after Madarame's fall, Yusuke still suffers from a serious case of Stockholm syndrome towards his former mentor and still desires for Madarame to revert back into what he thinks he is, even if it is pretty clear that all of Madarame's goodwill was lost right when he was born.]
[Makoto Niijima: Makoto is the younger sister of Sae Niijima and student council president of Shujin Academy and lives a double life as a Phantom Thief. She is 18. Her code name is Queen.
She is not above keeping secrets from her friends both out of shame and in order to maintain her image. Despite appearing prim and proper on the surface, Makoto is actually more of a tomboy: she's trained in aikido, enjoys violent action movies, never wears skirts other than her school uniform and seems to care little about fashion. Makoto has a compliant temperament that she never breaks out of. She is a level-headed and kind person, almost to a motherly extent. Makoto herself is quite embarrassed of her excessively masculine and dramatic ways of fighting and attire. Makoto is an excellent analytical thinker and strategist, known for correctly deducting how a majority of puzzles in Palaces work on first sight.
Makoto has brown hair in a bob cut with blunt bangs and a French-braid styled headband that matches her hair color. Her eyes are red, although her eye color in her portraits can be interpreted as a reddish-brown.
Her uniform appears normal but without the standard blazer. Instead, she wears a black halter vest over a long-sleeve white shirt with a turtleneck. She wears the regulation black and red pleated plaid skirt, black pantyhose and black-brown ankle boots.
Despite her immensely serious personality and efforts to be above the more bizarre antics of her friends, Makoto does have her own hidden meek side such as being frightened by hearing ghost stories and the dark. Feeling overshadowed by her highly successful older sister and being used as a tool, Makoto has almost no sense of self-worth and so has made a habit of keeping her nose down and doing what is expected of her.
Makoto is hard on Ryuji due to his consistently nonchalant approach to school life, who would fear her in turn. Despite her position as student council president, Makoto is an extremely unpopular student at Shujin Academy. This is because she did nothing to stop Kamoshida's abuse. In reality, Makoto wanted to do something against Kamoshida, but was too afraid of the principal meddling with her college record. Makoto's relationship with her sister is highly bitter, as Sae considers her as a detriment, yet Makoto constantly attempts to please her by fulfilling the expectations of other people. Though when she comes to understand her sisters true nature she tells her that she will heal her heart.
Makoto and Sae lived alongside their father since their mother died when they were young. As he was not home often, the sisters disliked him. He was murdered by being ran over by a truck in the line of duty, forcing Sae to juggle between handling cases in court and raising Makoto alone.]
[Futaba Sakura: Futaba is the Navigator of the Phantom Thieves. She is 16 years old. Prior to her Palace, she was a shut-in who does not attend school and rarely, if ever, leaves her house. Her code name is Oracle. Futaba is a prolific hacker. As the original Medjed, her skills were of worldwide fame, even if her own identity remained anonymous.
With a case of social anxiety bordering on agoraphobia developed from the trauma of losing her mother Wakaba Isshiki, combined with her generally introverted personality, Futaba is strongly uncomfortable with going outside. Beneath her anxiety, Futaba has a childish side and enjoys teasing her friends. Futaba's social ineptness often causes her to be very blunt, to the point that she seems to have no concept of tactfulness; she will often make notes about the thieves behaviors as if she is studying them. Futaba has little problem talking to people as long as the subject interests her.
Futaba is a young girl with straight hip-length black hair dyed bright orange, with straight-cut bangs and two long strands in the front along with a single small, thin strand at the top. Her brown eyes also seem to have some faint purple tones in them, appearing mauve. She wears large black circular glasses, and is almost always seen wearing a set of AKG K845BT headphones with red ear cushions. She is 5'0ft tall and has white skin.
Her casual winter outfit consists of multiple layers; she wears an off-shoulder white top with a red splatter-like pattern on her chest with five white asterisks (*****) in the red splatter, a black tank top underneath, a dark green jacket with a faux fur trimmed hood, black short shorts, a studded black belt in a slanted position, black thigh high socks and black knee-high boots with buckles and studs at the top. The green jacket has A.F.K. on the back.
As a former shut-in, Futaba appears to be the least physically fit member of the Phantom Thieves, to the point that she may end up sleeping for days at a time. She is also heavily reliant on the internet as she doesn't see the point in going shopping since you can buy anything online. Futaba loves computers, often plays video games, is into sci-fi, and is a big fan of the show Phoenix Ranger Featherman R.
She often pokes fun at Yusuke by calling him "Inari." In addition, she addresses Sojiro by his given name instead of "Dad."
Futaba is the daughter of cognitive psientist Wakaba Isshiki; her father is unknown. Due to her high intelligence compared to other children around her, she was bullied often.]
[Haru Okumura: Haru is a wealthy girl who attends Shujin Academy and lives a double life as a Phantom Thief. She is the only daughter of Kunikazu Okumura. She is 18. Her code name is Noir.
Haru is generally very shy and reserved. She has serious trust issues, finding it difficult to differentiate between who truly values her as a friend, and who merely wants to use her for her family's status. Haru is an incredibly kind-hearted girl. She becomes fast friends with all of the Phantom Thieves. She can be very awkward.
Haru has chin-length curly light auburn hair and brown eyes. She is 5'2ft white white skin.
She wears a pink turtleneck cardigan with short, puffed sleeves and a long-sleeved white shirt underneath. The cardigan is zipped open up to her navel and has two large pockets on the front. She wears the standard black and red tartan skirt, white tights with black carnation flowers and black Mary Jane shoes.
She grew up admiring female superheroes she watched on TV. In her spare time, she enjoys tending to her own garden, as well as growing vegetables on the roof of the school. Besides gardening, she also enjoys horror movies. Because of her gentle personality, she is often underestimated, even by her teammates, however she admits she feels excited when Shadows beg for their lives, that cutting down enemies as they approach is a thrill, and that she sees combat as a form of stress relief, hinting that she is somewhat sadistic.
At school, she is viewed as eccentric due to her tendency to keep to herself and avoid contact with others as much as possible. Haru has forgiven Akechi for killing her father, though more out of pity for his past.
Haru finally reveals that the true reason she wants to change her father's heart is not to redeem him, but to escape the marriage he had arranged for her. Kunikazu later dies after Akechi kills his cognitive form.]

She helps to take down Maruki, who had rewritten reality in an effort to erase all pain and suffering.
