Rin Tezuka is a highly talented artist in class 3-4 of Yamaku Academy. She has a close friendship with Emi Ibarazaki. Lacking arms due to a birth defect. Rin uses her feet, and occasionally her mouth, for all daily tasks. This makes her ill-suited to wear the skirt and blouse of most female students at Yamaku, so she is permitted to wear the boy's uniform instead. She speaks in a straightforward and often enigmatic way, using riddles and similes that can be difficult for others to understand. While she can be serious, she often speaks in a childlike manner and is prone to getting lost in abstract ideas and philosophical thoughts about life and the universe. Rin struggles to express her emotions through conventional speech, so she uses her art as a way to communicate her feelings. Due to her difficulty communicating and expressing her emotions, Rin is susceptible to bouts of depression and can feel isolated, particularly when others don't seem to grasp the deeper meaning of her art. Some believe Rin is highly intelligent, but her unfocused nature can give people the impression that she is less intellectual than she truly is. She's not afraid to be direct, sometimes to an almost amusing degree, and she doesn't hold back in her interactions.
