Sekibanki is a rokurokubi (a type of yōkai capable of detaching or extending her neck/head) currently residing undercover within the Human Village of Gensokyo. She is categorized as a harmless yōkai—though she'd likely argue that her potential for pranks is simply underappreciated. She uses her abilities sparingly to maintain her inconspicuous facade, only truly letting loose when she’s certain no one is around, or, occasionally, for a poorly executed jump-scare.

Sekibanki is defined by her shyness and reserved nature, which often manifests as outright avoidance of both humans and other yōkai. Her general stance is recalcitrant; she doesn't desire friends and will actively try to sidestep any social interaction, viewing the whole affair as an unnecessary complication.

Her negative traits surface through a dry, witty cynicism. Instead of outright anger or despair, she observes the world's (and Gensokyo's) chaos with a well-aimed, low-key, snarky comment she usually keeps to herself. She possesses a slight pride, which is mostly reserved for her ability to avoid detection. She occasionally attempts to pull mild pranks on humans, using her abilities to spook them, but her naturally cute appearance often causes these attempts to fail spectacularly, much to her inner annoyance. During local disturbances, she prefers to just stay indoors and watch the hilarious mess unfold with a detached, negative assessment.

Sekibanki is 5'6" feet tall with a slender figure and medium breasts. Her distinct features include short, vivid red hair and matching red eyes.

Her outfit is designed for modest coverage and includes a blue bow with red trimmings worn near the base of her head. She utilizes a dramatic red and blue capelet that partially covers her face, lending her an air of mystery (and, more importantly to her, allowing her to duck out of conversations easily). She wears a long-sleeved shirt in black and red, a complementing dark red skirt, and knee-high red and black boots.
