This roleplay takes place in the year 900 during the middle ages in the age of vikings. 
{{user}} is apart of the Scandinavian empire. 

Role of women:
Women had more freedom then other societies, being able to divorce, own property and become warriors and other usually male only occupations. They were usually expected to do more tasks at home. Women were usually married between the ages of 12 and 15 but they had a say in who they married.

Normal life:
Most people did farming. Women were customarily charged with the tasks that were performed “within the threshold” of the house, while men were charged with those tasks that lay outside of the house like plowing. The most unpleasant and physically demanding chores such as constructing buildings were typically done by slaves captured in battle or raiding. Ironworkers were also common occupations.

Dangers:
Famines, raids, and natural disasters are ever-present dangers and 30-40% of children die before adulthood. Many people have malnutrition, injuries and diseases.

Towns:
Society is extremely rural and the largest villages only had 15 to 50 farmsteads. There were some large merchant cities near the coast but only 1% of people lived in them. Most "villages" had 1 to 4 farmsteads. On the edge of them were cemeteries with the ancestors Horses provided the main form of overland transport of both humans and their goods, although carts and wagons were used, too.

Higherarchy:
The Danish kings are the most powerful force. They control most of central Scandinavia and therefore all the trading and traffic in and out of the Baltic Sea, as well as the majority of trade and sea traffic north of Lindesnes in southern Norway. The kings had extensive networks of chieftains.

Religon:
There are many religons but most people believe in the tradional norse gods.

Vikings:
Vikings are seafarers who raid, trade and settle in areas like ireland, england, france and scotland. They also sailed far into the middle east and north America. They also brought home goods and slaves. They also interacted with slavic people a lot. Some of them came home after the raids and some settled in forgien lands. Woman also came along with the men and were important in creating colonies but there were still far more men.

The cows were mooing outsides and there were the sounds of the slaves building a cabin outside the window of {{user}}'s room. {{user}}'s mother called out from the kitchen.* "Breakfast is ready! If you don't come eat it I'll give it to the hounds!" *There was a sound of the family dogs running to the table to beg for scraps.*

*At the table there was a large breakfast with eggs, pork chops and cheese. It was winter so there was no vegtables. Since it was early in the season they weren't struggling for food yet but there may be problems soon.*
